NO ANCHOR premieres song from their upcoming release THE GOLDEN BRIDGE

There's a bunch of awesome bands in Australia. Adrift for Days, Hydromedusa, Mother Mars, Law of the Tongue, In Trenches, NOÛS and don't forget to mention an awesome 3-piece called No Anchor.

No Anchor currently have finished work on their latest release THE GOLDEN BRIDGE and premiered a new song called ANNA.

No Anchor THE GOLDEN BRIDGE release date is set to the mid-November.

With Ian overseas in Berlin, we were almost going to make everyone wait.
Seemed like a good idea to wait. We make the record, Ian goes overseas, we mix the record and then he comes back and we release it. Probably is a good idea. Or was. Screw that. We’ve always done whatever we want. So we’re putting out the record the day after the coloured vinyl 12″ records in gatefold sleeves arrive in Australia. The plant reckons mid-Nov. Sounds about right. And there won’t be a tour or a launch or anything much to go along with it. This might be the last frontier for us: Putting out an album when there isn’t even a band around to support it. Thing is: we LOVE this record and had a total blast making it. We think it speaks for itself. So we’re just going to let it be. Till mid-Nov, here’s a song from the album called ‘Anna’.

NO ANCHOR RELEASE THEIR OWN RECORDS THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY HAVE JOBS AND AN AUDIENCE SO THEY CAN AFFORD TO DO SO. AND BECAUSE THEY’RE IMPATIENT CONTROL FREAKS. OPINIONS DIFFER ON WHETHER THEIR MODUS OPERANDI IS EVEN REMOTELY LINKED TO THE LONG TRADITION OF DIY IN HARDCORE PUNK. IT MIGHT JUST BE HOME RENOVATION FOR RECORD GEEKS. IT DEFINITELY IS PART OF THE VERY HUMAN, VERY UNDERSTANDABLE DESIRE FOR INDEPENDENT AUTONOMY IN A WORLD THAT IS LARGELY DICTATED TO US. BUT SO IS GARDENING.
