"Horse Thief Special" is the song from Odota's upcoming album. Odota is one of the best surprises of 2014, magnificent one man black metal/ experimental/ psychedelic project by the one eyed morse aka. Jarmo Nuutre (Blood Pavilion, Skull Trading, ex-Talbot). NYC alternative/ progressive art rock group Vajra is led by the dark imagination of Annamaria Pinna. Pinna has a neurological condition called synesthesia, where she attaches color and shapes to sound, bringing a new dimension to her songwriting. Their debut album Pleroma is an exploration in paradox (east vs west, soft vs pummelling, female vs male) and includes Blake Fleming (ex-The Mars Volta) on drums. Originally released in 2008, What You Were, North was hailed by critics as a success, and as a departure from the purely instrumental style which defined the band's earliest work. Featuring an eclectic variety of vocal styles, WYW's aesthetic is timeless, and now, for the first time, available on vinyl. North, Ohio based independent record label Cavity Records, and Michael Kadnar (drummer for Black Table and Downfall of Gaia) label Silent Pendulum Records have teamed up to deliver a limited pressing of 250 (100 white / 150 black).

Haldane of Solder House. In related news, YOB will bring their otherworldly riff rituals to the stage later this month on a handful of West Coast live excursions that will include performances in Sacramento, Oakland and Seattle as well as a headlining performance at Portland’s Hoverfest alongside Witch Mountain, Lord Dying, Eight Bells and more! The tour comes in advance of the band’s previously announced overseas trek this Fall. Slated to commence on September 3rd, 2014 in Utrecht, the Netherlands, the band will level twenty-eight cities, the tour coming to a close on October 11th, 2014 at Desertfest in Antwerp, Belgium. Milwaukee label HALO OF FLIES has paired the crushing, doomy sludge churned out by Denver's PRIMITIVE MAN with the trademark blackened hardcore sound of Denmark's HEXIS for a truly menacing 10" split. The two-track record will be released on May 13, 2014 on black and white vinyl. The upcoming split follows the success of PRIMITIVE MAN's major-label debut on Relapse Records, Scorn, and the recently HALO OF FLIES - released full-length Abalam from HEXIS, with both bands hitting the road together this summer to display the sheer power and intensity of this formidable pairing during a slew of live dates. HALO OF FLIES has recently confirmed a PRIMITIVE MAN split with Milwaukee crusher Northless in the near future. Available for pre-order in late April, 600 45rpm 10" copies of the split will be pressed, 400 on black and 200 on white with art by Ethan McCarthy. Terra Tenebrosa "V.I.T.R.I.O.L. - Purging The Tunnels" + EU Tour

Terra Tenebrosa's V.I.T.R.I.O.L. - Purging The Tunnels marks the transformation of the main figure behind Terra Tenebrosa, The Cuckoo, from the albums The Tunnels (2011) to The Purging (2013).
This makes totally sense, because the record features two lenghty tracks from both album recording sessions. Side A track "Draining The Well" is once again a nearly 18 minutes long, oppressing journey through both, the dark mind of The Cuckoo as well as the listener‘s. It finally erupts from dark ambiances into a loud, violent final. Side B track "Apokatastasis" has with just about 7 minutes a more straight-forward approach, with guitars well known from Breach. "Apokatastasis" was the first sign ever from The Cuckoo, it gave birth to Terra Tenebrosa and what became The Tunnels and The Purging. Underlying both tracks are those strange, buzzig vocals, which evoke numerous dark stories and events in the listener‘s mind. Again and again.

Four years after How Hate Is Hard To Define and a pair of splits, here's the long-awaited second full-length from Toulouse, France's PLEBEIAN GRANDSTAND. Lowgazers marks another impressive step in the band's quest of total aural devastation : armed with new drummer Ivo (Stuntman, PAL…), the four-piece picks the most dissonant and experimental aspects of black metal, hardcore and sludge to create an unreal vortex of desolation.

From the first notes of "Thrvst", the band reaches new heights of intensity, switching from inhuman blast beats to slow-motion torture, while unorthodox guitar work and painfully shrieked vocals tear the listener from all quarters. LA PARADE's debut cd/ 12" LP is a goddamn work of art. Seriously. This is ridiculously raw yet progressive, beautiful but chaotic and heavy while being soft and serene. It think the juxtapositions have run their course. This bands takes elements from Spain's long-running screamo turned post-rock heroes Standstill. The vocal melodies are astounding. LA PARADE also break out into some heavy/ screamy songs that are very reminiscent of Sed Non Satiata as well as (older/ better) Hopesfall.

MOPE is an instrumental doom metal band formed in Italy in 2011. They love minimalist and repetitive but heavy and distorted drones and stoner doom metal riffs, together with slow ambient/ jazz environments. Each member comes from a different music background but they all agree on listening to Earth, Om and Sleep. What comes out is a mix of heavy sonorities and elements of avant-garde metal, with the saxophone as a peculiar vocal line. For fans of Yakuza, Minsk, Callisto but also any doom metal, post metal, stoner and psychedelic music lover.

EtHERSENS Album Pre-order, New Song Stream

Post Metal band AUTISM starts 2014 by releasing "The Crawling Chaos" CD. Lithuanian post rock / post metal solo project AUTISM started 2014 by releasing their debut album The Crawling Chaos on a CD. This album originally was presented as a digital mp3 release in early 2013, which got quite positive reactions in the underground scene, which led to the cooperation with Mexican label Throat Productions, which released this album.

This album takes a darker turn with the narration of fragments of HP Lovecraft's maddening story The Crawling Chaos. The album's heavy guitars and pounding drums drive add to the telling of an Opium overdose over a century ago. The combination of spoken word, post rock, and ambient sounds were composed in the way that each listener could relive all the emotions of the main character.
